TechFamily Days

On Thursday 7th November students, families and parents have attended a conference at school about technology and its connection with future jobs. However, the speaker, from the University of Mondragón, not only mentioned the importance of technological skills but also communicative skills and foreign languages.

Technology will be paramount in the future and, at the same time, companies are more and more interested in having teams doing research and investigation. That’s why communicative skills will be necessary to explain projects and write reports. Moreover, nowadays many companies have presence in different countries all around the world and this makes foreign languages a basic tool in order to communicate with workmates from other countries.

So this leads us to the big question: what should our pupils study to get a good job in the future? Simple: anything that can open a door. It can be a vocational training; it can be a university degree or a doctorate. The only thing students, parents and school teachers must have in mind is the importance of letting doors opened which may allow them to choose their future career and develop all their skills in the technological and communicative fields.
